The Paper Planes crew caught up with New York designer 'TMark' to discuss his humble beginnings, inspiration, collabs and more. Here's the rundown...
Who is TMark?
T Mark is a kid from the Soundview houses in the Bronx with north side Queens roots and a love for basketball and fashion as a whole.
What does Greatness mean to you?
Greatness can be many things but what I call greatness is being the best version of yourself and being comfortable in your own skin.
How did you get into your career?
I always had a niche for clothes and I’ve always been a hat guy. I wanted to collect all 27 Yankee World Series hats, once I was able to do that I discovered they had years they lost the World Series, anniversary patches, etc. So after completing that [the Yankees collection] I said, “Am I gonna stop buying hats or try to do some on my own?” and the rest is history.
What was the inspiration behind this collaboration?
Honestly, the inspiration was my love for music, the culture, and actually being a fan of Roc Nation/Paper Plane. I bring something different and exciting to the table when it comes to the brand.
How have your collaborations help influence your brand/style?
Past collaborations showed me there’s a lot more work to be done. I have learned a lot, especially when it comes to the back end of things.
