AM:PM Gallery For Paper Planes

AM:PM Gallery is changing the way we experience art, championing underrepresented voices, and creating meaningful cultural connections. Their mission to uplift local artists and make art accessible to everyone inspired us to bring that energy into a tangible, wearable form. This collaboration turned that vision into a single bold hat. A piece that reflects the gallery’s ethos of thoughtful curation, cultural storytelling, and creative expression. Every detail was designed to honor the intersection of art and fashion, merging the gallery’s vibrancy with Paper Planes streetwear sensibility.

  • Shades of Blue

Blue has always carried deep meaning in both science and art. In a prism, when white light bends and separates into a spectrum, blue emerges as one of the most vibrant and powerful colors. It represents clarity, freedom, and endless possibility qualities that mirror the vastness of the sky itself. For AM:PM Gallery, blue stands as a symbol of vision and the creative journey, reminding us that the horizon is never a limit but a gateway.

  • Why The Sky Appears Blue

Our sky looks blue because of a phenomenon called Rayleigh scattering. Sunlight, which appears white, is actually made of many colors. As sunlight enters Earth's atmosphere, the shorter wavelengths like blue and violet scatter in all directions much more than longer wavelengths like red or yellow. Even though violet scatters more strongly, our eyes are more sensitive to blue, so the sky appears blue to us.

  • How It Affects The Color of Water

The color of water is also influenced by the sky. Large bodies of water, like oceans and bays, often appear blue because they reflect the scattered blue light from the sky above. Water also absorbs longer wavelengths of light (reds, oranges), letting the shorter blue wavelengths dominate. This creates the deep, shifting blues we see on the surface an effect that connects sky and sea as a single, unified canvas.
